Jacqueline Burgos – R.C. Molina School – Camden, NJ
Jacqueline Burgos is a 1st grade teacher at R.C. Molina, and staffer in the New Jersey After 3 Communities in Schools afterschool program. In addition to taking the initiative to apply for The KaBOOM Foundation’s $50K grant to revitalize the decrepit playground at her school, Jacqueline had to knock on several doors to make this project a reality. Thanks to her hard work, persistence, and tons of support from her family, friends, and colleagues – Jacqueline was able to celebrate alongside Jon Bon Jovi (as seen in this picture) and applaud the more than 200 volunteers who came out to help build the new state of the art playground in Camden, NJ on October 19, 2009.
This volunteer event was made possible by: Jacqueline Burgos, R.C. Molina School, Camden Public Schools, Jon Bon Jovi's Soul Foundation, KaBOOM Foundation, and SAP America – with support from staff, especially Site Coordinator, Shani Johnson, and all of the kids within New Jersey After 3's Communities in Schools afterschool program.
