CLIFTON — The Boys & Girls Club of Clifton and New Jersey After 3 are embarking on a Road to Literacy campaign in 2011. Thanks to generous support from Reading is Fundamental (RIF), Enterprise Rent-A-Car, State Farm Insurance, BJ's Charitable Foundation, Youth Service America (YSA), and AT&T, students in New Jersey After 3 afterschool programs will participate in New Jersey After 3 READS! literacy initiative. The aimed of the initiative is to keep kids on a positive Road to Literacy.

Corporate volunteer Yasmin Sexton, from BJs Charitable Foundation, joined afterschool program students and staff at Clifton School 17 for the first book distribution event on Jan. 19. BJ's generously provided delicious and nutritious snacks for all of the students and Yasmin assisted in disseminating books, and engaging students in fun reading activities to help cultivate their love of reading!

More than 15,000 Scholastic books will be ordered through Reading is Fundamental (RIF), and will be distributed to New Jersey After 3 afterschool partner sites, during two additional distributions.
