Shannon Boehmer
Community Affairs and Public Relations Manager
Shannon Boehmer is the Community Affairs and Public Relations Manager for New Jersey After 3. In this role, Shannon manages all media related opportunities for the organization’s statewide program network and oversees the cultivation and ongoing management of relationships with various associations, parent groups and the media.
Shannon started her career as an executive recruiter in the advertising and IT industries. With an expressed interest in working more intimately on advertising and media initiatives, Shannon secured a role with an innovative interactive television technology company, WorldGate Communications, where she served as Media Services Manager – responsible for supporting 26 Cable Operators in their strategic development and execution of interactive advertising and television programming technologies. Shannon was selected by the organization to be the company spokesperson and featured speaker at a number of media events including: Telerx, Western Cable Show, National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE), CTAM (Cable Television Advertising & Marketing), among others.
After a three-year commitment, and established partnerships with over 50 advertisers and dozens of Broadcast and Cable Television Network partners with whom Shannon worked with to produced TV optimized content – she took on a contracted Affiliate Relations role with Comcast Online Communications before taking a brief sabbatical to give birth to her two children.
Shannon returned to the workforce by starting her own small business, Shannon Boehmer Consulting – where she contracted with Garfield Group Public Relations. At that time, Shannon also contracted with New Jersey After 3. Her position with New Jersey After 3 blossomed into a permanent role within the organization where she now drives public awareness of New Jersey After 3.
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Eastern University, and currently resides in Philadelphia, PA with her husband and two children.
