Kiran Gaudioso
Director of Training
Kiran Handa Gaudioso has more than ten years of experience in staff and leadership development, fundraising and budgeting, and program management, including evaluation and monitoring in the field of non-profit management.
Ms. Gaudioso is Director of Training and Technical Assistance for New Jersey After 3. Her responsibilities include developing a comprehensive training and technical assistance plan that is implemented on a yearly basis. Her responsibilities include coordinating monthly peer sharing meetings for the New Jersey After 3 site coordinators, organizing the annual Partner Orientation program that involves a multi-day retreat experience for all site coordinators, and facilitating 3-5 regional trainings per year for over 500 new Jersey After Youth Development staff. Ms. Gaudioso also coordinates the Peer Review Process through which New Jersey After 3 selects its partners who implement afterschool programs throughout the state.
Prior to joining New Jersey After 3, Ms. Gaudioso served as the Director of Mentoring, Volunteerism & Enrichment Programs of Sponsors for Educational Opportunity, based in Manhattan. Ms. Gaudioso led a management team that was responsible for establishing policies and procedures to develop the academic, personal, and career potential of more than 500 students in economically challenged areas of New York City from sixth grade through college.
Ms. Gaudioso also served as the Director of Program of Administration and Development for the New Jersey Community Development Corporation, located in Paterson, New Jersey. In this role, Ms. Gaudioso developed and implemented fundraising strategies, corporation and foundation outreach, and grant writing procedures.
Also, Ms. Gaudioso served as the Executive Director of Jersey Cares, based in Morristown, New Jersey. As Jersey Cares' Executive Director, Ms. Gaudioso directed volunteer management efforts, volunteer recruitment and training, and volunteer recognition programs for over 800 volunteers. She represented Jersey Cares in the national City Cares of America network.
As a Policy Adviser in the Governor's Office of Volunteerism in the New Jersey Department of Human Services, Ms. Gaudioso provided technical assistance to the non-profit, corporate, and education communities in the areas of building community partnerships, resource sharing, and collaborative programming. She was part of the national effort to develop AmeriCorps, the national service program, and she was instrumental in its successful implementation in New Jersey.
Ms. Gaudioso received a B.A. in Political Science and Policy Studies from Syracuse University, cum laude. Ms. Gaudioso thereafter earned an M.A. in Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy from The Eagleton Institute of Public Politics at Rutgers University. She pursued her studies at Eagleton on a full academic and research scholarship. Finally, she is a graduate of the national New Generation Training Program for professionals in the field of youth and community service.
